Poet Stafford Wins Fellowship
Kim Stafford, director of the Northwest Writing Institute at the graduate school, was awarded a $20,000 fellowship from the Regional Arts & Culture Council. Stafford will use the fellowship to explore and publish work on the walking life of Portland.
Watzek Library Acquires William Stafford Archive
Forty years of daily journals and papers belonging to former U.S. Poet Laureate William Stafford have been donated for safeguarding and digitization to the Watzek Library. Graduate school professor Kim Stafford (William’s son) will work closely with the digitization project and to formulate plans for the best use of the collection. Kim Stafford Receives Literary Award
Associate Professor Kim Stafford is receiving the Stewart H. Holbrook Literary Legacy Award, one of two special awards that Literary Arts bestows annually. He will receive his award at the Oregon Book Awards ceremony, Sunday, December 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Portland Art Museum.
