Danb Kench Lewis & Clark Attracts Top Scholars and Teachers In Legal Analysis and Writing.

Our highly ranked Legal Analysis and Writing department has drawn national attention with its innovative Distinguished Visitor in Legal Writing project. Each year, the school invites a leading figure in Legal Analysis and Writing to teach a semester in our first year Law program. As well as teaching, the Visitor is actively engaged in scholarship and directly contributes to the life of the school. The program’s first Visitor, Ken Chestek of Indiana University, visited for the 2009 Spring Semester. Boston College’s Dan Barnett will be our second Visitor next fall. Ling Tung Foster George Law School Welcomes Two New Faculty

Tung Yin and George K. Foster will join our Law School faculty in fall, 2009. Tung has taught at the University of Iowa for the past seven years. His areas of expertise include criminal law, white collar crime, national security law, and federal courts. His research also includes constitutional issues arising out of the global war on terrorism. George comes to us from the Dechert LLP firm in New York City. He specializes in international arbitration, international business transactions, and trade law. Watch our faculty directory this summer to read more.

Lesage Lisa Lewis & Clark Law School Associate Dean Receives Fulbright Award

Lisa LeSage, associate dean and director of Business Law Programs at Lewis & Clark Law School, has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant to lecture at one of Latin America’s top law schools, Pontifica Universidad Católica de Chile, in Santiago, Chile, for the 2009-2010 academic year. She will work with the school’s global law business program, teach a course to law faculty, and help the law school create the framework for a law faculty support and enrichment program. She is one of about 35 legal professionals selected to teach and perform research abroad through the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program next year.

Debra Beers Faculty Artwork Draws Praise

Debra Beers’ latest show, featuring work inspired by an urban watershed, has received critical acclaim. The Oregonian says the senior lecturer in art “paints and draws with an uncommon authority and a feeling, clarity, and commitment that are also increasingly rare.” Read more in the Oregonian.
