Brian-farr Financial Therapy Eases Pain of Recession

Financial stress is one of the leading causes of marital conflict, and more and more families are facing this stress. The bond-trader-turned-counselor spoke to the Oregonian about financial communication, the golden age of consumerism, and what lies ahead for families facing tough times.

Brown-book Dr. Andraé Brown Presents at “Black and Male in America” Panel

Counseling Psychology Professor Andraé Brown recently presented his work on mental wellness for Black men at a Town Hall event of the Open Society Institute in New York. Dr. Brown published a chapter on the subject in the Black Male Handbook, edited by activist-author Kevin Powell. The book tackles political, practical, cultural, and spiritual matters for Black men of the hip-hop generation.

The first lecture, Understanding Islam takes place this Thursday, September 4, and will feature Egyptian professor Hanan Hosny speaking on common misconceptions of Muslim traditions.

Abrown-6090 Andraé Brown Joins Counseling Psychology

We are very pleased to announce that Andraé Brown, Ph.D., will join us this fall as a tenure-track professor in Counseling Psychology, with primary responsibilities in Marriage, Couple and Family Therapy. His numerous publications and presentations cover themes in racism, feminism, white privilege, domestic violence, urban youth empowerment, and supervision, to name a few.
