Thru the Lenz Exhibit Comes to Graduate School
On October 2 from 4-6 pm, 10 Roosevelt High School students will showcase photographs depicting their daily lives. Thru the Lenz is a community photo project partnering high school students with Lewis & Clark graduate students to capture the community through pictures.
Liberal Arts at Work
Employers and communities around the world are in need of people who can “multitask, synthesize a lot of information, and engage in creative problem-solving,” says Minda Heyman, director of the Center for Career and Community Engagement. Learn about the center’s role in helping undergraduate students plan their careers, find community service work, and take advantage of other leadership and personal development opportunities. On the Job for the Community
Lewis & Clark spends 25 percent of its Federal Work-Study dollars in programs off campus. Students connect with and contribute to their community through employment ranging from prosecuting criminal offenses for the Multnomah District Attorney’s Office to tutoring children in elementary school. Counseling Psychology students bring back lessons from Mumbai
Ten students from the Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling traveled to Mumbai, India in December as part of their coursework in the Marriage, Couple and Family Therapy (MCFT) and Community Counseling Programs. They visited a treatment center, court, a rural fishing village, several schools, and numerous women’s NGOs. Read more and see their photographs.
