Dennis Chang Named Student Commencement Speaker
Fifteen years ago, Dennis Chang was graduating from MIT with a major in Chemical Engineering. His early academic experience led him to a very successful career in the high-tech industry. In 2006, Dennis decided to resign his position at Intel in order to be a stay-at-home dad for his son, Calvin. It was during this period of re-evaluation and self-assessment that teaching called his name. Dennis will address his fellow students at Commencement on June 7.
Law School Commencement 2009
Commencement for the Law School will be held at Griswold Stadium at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2009. Graduates must be at Pamplin Sports Center at 9:30 a.m. A reception at the Law School follows commencement. This year’s speakers will be nationally known trial lawyer, Robert S. Bennett, and Alter Wiener. Bennett has been described as one of the 100 most influential attorneys in America and is the author of “In the Ring — The Trials of a Washington Attorney.” Alter Wiener is a Holocaust survivor who has shared his life story with over 450 audiences. He is the author of an autobiography, “From A Name to A Number”. The event will be streamed live. Watch this page for the link.
2009 Law School Commencement Ceremony
This year’s Law School commencement speaker will be nationally known trial lawyer, Robert S. Bennett, described as one of the 100 most influential attorneys in America. Holocaust survivor and past speaker at Lewis & Clark, Alter Wiener, will receive an honorary degree. Check back soon for details on how you can view live streaming video of this prestigious event.

Commencement 2008
The Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling’s 24th commencement ceremony will be held Sunday, June 1, 2008 at 10 a.m. in the Pamplin Sports Center. Highly regarded family therapist and author Chris Crutcher (pictured) will deliver the address. On May 31, he will also lead a workshop called “What Works with Kids.“

Student Commencement Speaker Named
Charlie Ahlquist, M.A.T. ’08, has been chosen as student commencement speaker. An experienced musician, he says of teaching, “I find joy every hour by educating my students about different cultures, our histories, our diversity, and the exhilaration and anguish of the human condition, through the gift of song.”
Commencement 2008
Commencement for the law school will be held at Griswold Stadium at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2008. A short reception for graduates and guests will be held on the Law School Campus immediately following commencement. Graduates must be at Pamplin Sports Center at 9:30 a.m. This year’s speaker will be Congressman John Lewis of Georgia. A reception at the law school follows commencement.
Graduate Commencement
Internationally renowned author and educator Nel Noddings will speak at the Graduate School of Education and Counseling’s commencement ceremony on Sunday, June 3, at 10 a.m.
